A busy month for Everyone’s a DJ

Spots are now available for the Saturday, 11 July 2009 edition of Everyone’s a DJ, and signing up for a set is now easier than ever. Late last night, I launched an online form that DJs can use to request a set as much as three months in advance. All you have to do is enter your name, your email address, the date and time you’d like to spin, and a DJ name if you’d like to use one. If you’d like to spin at an upcoming party, then fill out the form and let me know what you think.

I’m hoping this will make things easier for everyone involved. When you fill out the form, you’ll include your first, second and third choices for set times. When you submit the form, I’ll get an email. If I can give you the set you’ve requested, or at least your second or third choice, I’ll send you an email and we’ll make it official. it’s a simple process for the DJs, and because I don’t have to keep track of a lot of text, threads, and tweets, it’s a lot less work for me too.

More changes to the site will follow. I’ve run this form through some pretty rigorous testing, but I’m sure I’m going to get a lot of feedback from July’s DJs. Collecting the information in this fashion is going to enable me to do a lot of stuff with the site that only me and my fellow nerds would ever care about, but that’s going to be really important as the night continues to expand.

Speaking of which, there’s more news to come this week, including word of a really great event we’re doing later in the month. Stay tuned for details.
