Tonight at the Tranzac

If you’re out and about this evening, you should make a point of dropping into the Tranzac to catch the final edition of a series called Wombat Wednesdays. It’s presented by Pitter Patter Nights and Fuzzy Logic Recordings, and there’s a really impressive assortment of local bands on the bill.

Circus School, Ginger and Irene, Gravity Wave, THOMAS, Radius and Helena and I am Robot and Proud will be performing live. Jesse James Laderoute will host a sound installation. I’ll round it out by spinning some vast and varied sets; promoter Tom MacCammon told people I’d be “good and heavy,” and I’d hate to disappoint.

The doors will open at 8:00 PM, and the bands are set to start shortly after. I don’t think it’s going to be a late night, which is good news for me and the other nine-to-fivers. Facebook users can check out the event listing for details and to RSVP. Don’t miss it!

In other news, if you were one of the many people at Augusta House on Saturday for Yo! Summerjam, then I’m afraid you caught the last of the Yo! Jamz for now. Paul has decided to go on hiatus for a while so he can focus on some personal priorities. Naturally we’re all behind him, and we hope to see you again before too long.
