“Doctorin’ The Tardis” was a brilliant proto-mashup. Gosh, one sentence and I’m already veering off-topic!

My two best long-term friends are committed fans; one introduced his son to Who at age five as Eccleston assumed the mantle, and the boy’s stuck with it.

A good primer is golden, whether it’s A.V. Club’s series or the thumbnail sketch one friend provides another over SMS – last year a friend texted me for a quick Depeche Mode backgrounder while his date was in the bathroom. Assist for Gretzky!

Dr. Who used to be on TVO when I was little, and the theme animation used to freak me out. So, I’ve never watched it.

Yeah, there’s basically no escape. I hate to be the one to tell you, but there you go.

And now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to forward the link to my sister’s boyfriend.

Matt – I’m so glad you posted this!
I have more conversations about Dr. Who this weekend than I’ve had in my entire life.

Though I fear this primer will launch me into world in which I might not be able to escape…
