Link of the Day: Ad-Free Blog

I heard about the Ad-Free Blog campaign through a link on the blog of one Foster Kamer, a Village Voice columnist who recently put himself in the middle of a hullabaloo about a crude but clever dick joke. Thanks to Funkaoshi for the indirect link.

It’s an interesting idea, at least when it’s not being done by default or out of laziness, as is currently the case on my site. It isn’t one that I’d necessarily subscribe to, particularly because I think this particular campaign unfairly confuses all advertising with corporate advertising. But it’s an idea worth considering and discussing all the same.
