Published today: My first post on WTF TORY
Maybe “published” is a strong word for something I posted on a Tumblr site. But damn it, this is the category I use to tell you about stuff I’ve written elsewhere, so “published” is going to have to do. Tumblr’s a publishing platform, right?
I linked to WTF TORY a week and a half ago. I had already spoken to the friends of mine who run the site about their plans for it, and soon they encouraged me to get involved. The post above, which is really just a link to an article in the Star, is the first and only thing I’ve contributed so far.
But it won’t be the last – unless we all wake up tomorrow to find that the Tories are suddenly running an effective, responsive, and non-corrupt government. Assuming that won’t be the case, and you feel like keeping tabs on the Tories through a site full of simple, bite-size updates, then you’re welcome to stay tuned to WTF TORY for more.

I keep waking up and hoping the Progressive Conservatives take over the party. And I mean, in High School the thought of the PCs running anything would probably make me crazy, but at this point, i’m all, “let’s make this happen, people!” I suspect you could have WTF TORY run forever and ever. I don’t even post most of the stuff I come across, because I think it might be too overwhelming.
I do think it’s going to take a shift within the party to bring any real change about. It’s all fine and good for people in Toronto to say that they’re never going to vote for Harper’s Conservatives again because of the G20, for example – but we’ve never really voted for them anyway, so it doesn’t make much of a difference.
I think it’s going to take issues like the current census measures, which have alarmed many Conservatives as well as opposition members, to do some real damage to the administration. Harper runs a tight ship and tolerates little dissent, so it won’t happen overnight.
