Hey, by the way, I’m writing for Chart now

, April 30, 2010

Drop by chartattack.com today, and you’ll find a review of the latest edition of the FabricLive series. It’s the first review I’ve written for the site, and I’m hoping there will be many more to come. Do check it out. It’s been a fun gig so far, and it’s an opportunity that I’m very glad […]

It’s Friday, so here’s the video for “Ocean Pearl” by 54-40

, April 30, 2010

Why? Because it’s a mighty fine song, plain and simple. I heard it for the first time in years at a pub this week, and I’ve had it in my head ever since. I know I’ve already recently posted a video or two by Canadian bands who were big in the nineties, but what can […]

Rahim Jaffer probably shouldn’t hire me to represent him in legal matters

, April 28, 2010

I don’t understand why Rahim Jaffer hasn’t chosen to respond to the allegations against him by testifying that it was all just some other guy pretending to be him. I mean, I know that sounds ridiculous and laughable, but let’s not forget that there’s a precedent for it.

I’m sorry, but I couldn’t resist (Part 2)

, April 27, 2010

Here’s an email that I just sent to Kiva Couchon at the Arizona Office of Tourism, as per the recommendation of a staffer at ArizonaGuide.com, regarding Senate Bill 1070. Ms. Couchon, How are you? I was given your contact information by an “Arizona Expert” who I had the pleasure of chatting with at ArizonaGuide.com this […]

I’m sorry, but I couldn’t resist (Part 1)

, April 27, 2010

Here’s a transcript of a live chat I had moments ago with a very polite staffer at ArizonaGuide.com, an online guide presented by the Arizona Office of Tourism. [AG] Hi, I’m [handle withheld]. It’s not Friday, but here’s the video for “By the Time I Get to Arizona” by Public Enemy”

, April 27, 2010

Just promise me you won’t watch it until after you’ve taken the time to look up Arizona Senate Bill 1070. After that, go ahead and look up Arizona’s history on race relations. And then, if you want, come back here and we can all have a yell in the comments section about the sheer ridiculousness […]

Oh, God, the awkwardness!

, April 26, 2010

Did the waiter intentionally short change me when he brought the bill? Did he take it upon himself to deduct his own tip from my change? Was he really that presumptuous? Or on the other hand, could it possibly have been a situation in which he grabbed a quarter, thinking it was a toonie, and […]

Tomorrow is moving day

, April 22, 2010

I haven’t been posting much lately, and that’s because it’s been a very busy couple of weeks. Tomorrow’s going to be the peak of it, because it’ll be the day when we load up the truck and take the bulk of our stuff over to the new place. We did some painting and cleaning today, […]

Richmond Hill and the Danforth

, April 19, 2010

I’ve been at a work conference in Richmond Hill for the past couple of days, and I’m here until tomorrow. I haven’t left the building since the day we arrived, except to head back downtown this morning to sign the final paperwork on our house. Tomorrow, while I’m wrapping up the conference, Kate will pick […]

, April 16, 2010

And since this is such an incredibly busy week, I hope you don’t mind if I just post the video and let it speak for itself. It’s a timely one, and a good one, and I hope you enjoy it.
