God isn’t on his side! He’s a socialist! He is stupid! He’s a communist! He’s killing the economy! And so on… the only thing they didn’t accuse the man of was kicking puppies).

My knee-jerk reaction is to get really angry, “unfriend” these two aunts-in-law and pretend that their politics don’t exist. It made me think about your experiment and realize that I really admire you for listening to the ultra-conservative side without simply getting angry and leaving the conversation. Hope it’s going well.
