Wise words at one in the morning

“Finish each day and be done with it,” Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote. “You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”

I should probably take that advice a little more often. I’m slowly kicking the habit of staying up late, trying to send another email or finish up another job. It would probably make a lot more sense to call a night and move on more often than not.

I’ve been getting up earlier lately, if that helps. It probably doesn’t, though, does it?
