So long, Art Bar, and thanks!

We hosted the last of our readings at the Art Bar tonight, and we couldn’t have hoped for a better one. Doc Pickles kicked things off with a great reading, Kate Carraway followed it up with a triumphant return, Erika Rummel kept the room captivated with some compelling fiction, and Timothy Quinn brought it home with a twisted tale of octopus enthusiasts. All in all, a terrific night, and yet another example of curators Spencer Butt and Devon Code doing excellent work.

I can’t think of a better way to have ended our run at the Gladstone. But more to the point, I’m glad to be able to tell you that we’ll return in January with our first reading at our new home, the Free Times Cafe. We’ll host the first of these new readings on Thursday, 7 January 2010, and we’ll stick to a “first Thursday of the month” schedule from then on.

There’s a lot more to come on the subject of the series, so stay tuned to the Strong Words website and this space for details as they develop. In the meantime, thanks to all those who made tonight such a great one!
