Happy holidays!

I’m in the UK at the moment, celebrating my first official Christmas with Kate and her family. It’s been a wonderful day, and as much as I’ve wanted to send my best wishes to everyone back home, I figured I’d rather be social in the old school sense than spend a bunch of time on the web.

But the great thing about being in the UK at this time of year is that it’s no longer Christmas Day here, while the folks at home still have about three hours to go. Because of a technicality, I’m able to have my cake and eat it too. Though they’d probably call it “pudding” here, since that’s what they apparently call everything.

So to all the folks at home – hell, to friends and family all over the world – happy holidays! Or if you’re one of those people who thinks that saying “happy holidays” is just a gutless, PC alternative to wishing someone a merry Christmas, then merry Christmas instead! Though I don’t really know what’s wrong with the first thing I said!
