Everybody’s working through the weekend (instead of DJing)

The January edition of Everyone’s a DJ, which we’d planned to host tomorrow night, has unfortunately been canceled. Booking sixteen DJs for one night just a week after New Year’s Eve is a pretty tall order, and as hard as we worked to make it happen, we still had a number of vacant spots at the eleventh hour. We’ll be back again on the thirteenth of February, and hopefully most if not all of the DJs we were able to confirm for January will join us then.

To tell you the truth, I hate having to cancel a night. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it kind of feels like admitting defeat. But there are times when it’s the smartest thing to do, and I think the first week of January is definitely one of those times. We couldn’t have done it without a half-empty bill and a half-empty bar, and I wouldn’t want to drag everybody out for a night like that. Sometimes taking a knee is the most sensible thing to do – and since I found out after canceling the night that I’m basically going to have to work through the weekend, I’m that much happier about having made that decision.

In the meantime, Disgraceland will still be open. We’re currently booking sets in February, March and April, so feel free to sign up or stay tuned for more information. Thanks as always!
