Currently enjoying “On Another Level” by Los Hermanos

A quick Google search will tell you that “Los Hermanos” is a very popular band name, and the particular Los Hermanos that I happen to have in mind apparently isn’t even the most notable example. I couldn’t find an official standalone website, but they do have a MySpace page, which bills them as “Los Hermanos Detroit.” So I’m guessing that if they didn’t already know that they weren’t the only ones using their name, then they figured it out when they discovered that another band had scooped them on a web address.

Either way, the Los Hermanos I want to tell you about today is the one that put out an album called On Another Level in 2004. It’s a record that I keep putting on every once in a while – whenever one of the tracks shows up in the shuffle, for example – and every time I do, I enjoy it.

I didn’t know until today that Los Hermanos went on to release another album in 2008, or that they’ve also got a number of additional EPs in their back catalog. I think I might have to go ahead and check it all out.
