Thirty great days in June
You know what? I’ve had a pretty awesome day today. I got up early, exercised and ate well, got a bunch of things done at work, moved a bunch of personal projects forward, and generally felt like I was well on top of everything.
I wonder if I can keep that feeling going. In fact, since today is the first day of June, I’m wondering if I can keep it up for thirty days.
I don’t know what that would involve, exactly. But I do know that things are finally calming down now that we’re settled into the new place, and I do know that I’ve got a lot of different things I’ve been meaning to catch up on. I think if I really apply myself in June, then not only could I get a whole lot done, but I might even have a great time doing it.
Now, if you were to ask me to point to a single big accomplishment of my own today – not counting the anniversary I mentioned this morning, of course – then I don’t really think I could do it. Today felt more like it was about tackling a lot of different things in a lot of different areas of my life. In other words, it felt like a really balanced day. That’s the feeling I’m going to try and maintain for the rest of the month at least.
Mind you, if I did manage to get one notable thing accomplished each day – even just a simple thing that I wound up being fairly proud of doing – then that wouldn’t be such a bad thing either. Maybe I’ll get started by calling this very decision to make the most of June my “thing” for today, and that will be the start of it.
One thing I probably won’t do, however, is chronicle the whole thing here. I’m certainly not going to create a blog category for impressive daily accomplishments or anything like that, because I’ve already gotten a little “category happy” lately. Within the past week, I’ve created categories for the reviews I post on Tuesday, the videos I link to on Friday, the blurbs about anything I might have had published elsewhere, and the Links of the Day.
That’s all fine and good. In fact, it’s a big step towards finally launching a fully redesigned site. But I think we can leave it at that for now, don’t you?
