How would you like to yell at a fake Tony Hayward?
I got a little bored this afternoon – towards the end of what was actually a very productive day at the office – so I decided to create a fake Twitter account for Tony Hayward, the controversial and evidently evil CEO of BP.
As the name might suggest, I didn’t create @yellathayward because I wanted to drop a bunch of smug anti-corporate truth bombs about the oil spill. Even before BP came along, there were already plenty of accounts of that sort, and usually they’re pretty lame.
The only reason I created this account was to give friends and acquaintances who are rightly pissed off about this environmental disaster – and Hayward’s grossly insufficient and childishly indignant response to it – a fun and harmless way to let it out.
For my part, between now and whenever I happen to get bored of the whole affair, I’ll retweet everything posted to this account on at least a daily basis. So if you follow this account, you’ll get to read everything that’s posted to it. In addition, I’ll try to post links to all of the oil spill news I come across – so following this account will keep you up to date on the latest developments.
Check it out, guys. Tell your friends and get the word out. I’d really like to see if I can wring a sitcom deal out of this stupid thing.
