Link of the Day: “The Manual” in PDF format

I actually found the link I posted yesterday while searching for this one. It’s a PDF copy of The Manual, the book that the KLF – or technically the Timelords – wrote about writing and recording their number one hit.

“It was an excuse to say a lot of things I wanted to say about how the industry worked,” Bill Drummond said. “It was an excuse to go out and say to people all they can say to themselves: If you want to do something, go and do it! Don’t wait to be asked, don’t wait for a record company to come and want to sign you or a management company. Just go and do it.

“Also, it was saying: If you wanna have number one… you can have it. It won’t make you rich, it won’t make you happy, but you can have it.”

Hard copies of the book are rare and rather expensive. I picked up a reissued copy a number of years ago, but I loaned it to someone a few months back, and I can’t remember who it was. I don’t suppose it was you, was it? I’d really like to get that book back.
