Link of the Day: #voteTO
The other day, my friend Chris dropped a line to ask which of the mayoral candidates, if any, I was planning to pull for in the next election. Much as I hated to do it, I had to admit that I’m not really wowed by anyone yet. Not in a positive “I can understand why reasonable people who care about this city would vote for that guy” sense, at least.
“That said,” I figured I’d tell him, as long as we were on the subject of local politics, “I really like the work the folks at #voteTO are doing.”
#voteTO is “a collective of progressive young people who wanted to endow the virtual body of the Twittersphere with a real-world political presence. So far, we have been reasonably successful.”
It’s a group that’s largely driven by some of Toronto’s most civically engaged and well-informed young people, and you should definitely take a moment to check them out.
