Further adventures in character assassination
Hey, remember this guy? I ran into him again today during my lunch break. And in the interest of being objective, I feel like I should note that he didn’t have a single negative thing to say today about gay people. Women and the Québécois, sure, but not gay people.
Mind you, it probably isn’t fair to focus on the few unpleasant things a man might have to say about the various groups of people he can’t relate to. How do we know a guy like that doesn’t have a bunch of worthwhile wisdom to share on other subjects? And who are we to ignore the opportunity to benefit from that wisdom just because we don’t agree with a few things he has to say about the people who subconsciously intimidate him?
This fellow, for example, had a lot of great advice to share about cheating on your taxes, the appropriate amount to drink while boating if you don’t want to get a ticket, and the importance of faking an injury when you get into a car accident. Hey, they laughed at Galileo too, you know!
