Link of the Day: Sketchersons TV

Saturday night marked the debut of Sketchersons TV, a brand new weekly sketch show produced by the acclaimed troupe of the same name, and airing on Rogers TV.

Now, I didn’t get to see it, because I was at a wedding. And even if I’d been home, I wouldn’t have been able to catch it, because… Well, because I don’t get the channel it’s on. But my mother’s been taping it, and I’m really looking forward to checking it out.

If you also missed the debut broadcast, you can apparently catch it tonight at 10:00 PM, or on Friday night at the same time. Hooray!

I should note that I’ve been told – by my mother – that my brother, who of course is a member of the troupe, didn’t appear in this episode. Nor did his terrific and talented girlfriend Jocelyn Geddie, who joined the troupe after production had wrapped on the season.

But despite his various other commitments during the shooting schedule, Jon will appear in future episodes, so do stay tuned. And for those of you who can’t wait until then, here’s yet another link to “Poems by Batman.”

By the way, the shirt that Laura Cilevitz is wearing in that video is my brother’s, and formerly my father’s. I just wanted to point that out because a) it throws me off a little every time I watch that sketch, and b) I wanted to give you all the impression that I’m some sort of local comedy insider. Did it work?

In other news, as astute readers may have noticed if they clicked on the appropriate link above, the Sketchersons have got a new website! It’s so new, in fact, that at the time of this writing the footer still says “This is your footer, you can add content here by going to the widgets section of your wordpress admin panel.” Still, it’s a real step forward!
