Link of the Day: Together is Amazing
Kate and I got back from Vancouver late last night, ordered a pizza, did some laundry and went to bed. Now it’s Monday morning, and we’re both getting ready to head back to work and jump back into the usual routine. For me, that includes getting back into posting after a brief hiatus, and I figured I’d start by telling you about a new program that’s happening in Vancouver right now.
Together is Amazing is a community engagement program spearheaded by Shaw Cable. It’s currently in motion in Vancouver and an assortment of other Canadian cities. Its vision is “a world where amazing things are possible. A world where the big issues that affect us are small compared to the power we have to affect change.” And yes, that should be “effect,” but that shouldn’t take away from the general greatness of the idea.
They’re currently running a substantial food bank campaign, for example. But in addition, they’re also hosting an impressive bulletin board of local campaigns and programs, to which visitors are invited to contribute. And on the fun side of things, there’s also a scavenger hunt of sorts, and a game you can play online with other visitors.
