Watch Pat Thorton tell jokes for twenty-four straight hours in honour of AIDS relief
Local comedian, founding Sketcherson and Hotbox creator Pat Thornton raised a cool five thousand dollars last year for the Stephen Lewis Foundation by performing a twenty-four hour stand-up comedy marathon as part of the foundation’s A Dare to Remember program.
This year, he returns to Comedy Bar to do it all again. He’s already raised five grand, and the donations are still rolling in. His marathon begins at 6:00 PM tonight, and you’ll be able to watch it here, courtesy of bite.ca.
Pat will be backed up by a team of supporting comedy writers – including my brother Jon, among others. Twitter users are also invited to send their jokes to Pat through his account, provided they’re tagged with “#pats24hrs.”
For more information, or to sponsor Pat, check out his page on the Dare to Remember website. At the time of this writing, Pat has nearly hit his $6,000 fundraising target. How would you like to be the one to push him over the top?
