Link of the Day: Women Moving Forward

“The young mothers in Women Moving Forward (WMF) are ambitious, strong women who, despite the adversity they’ve faced, are determined to move forward in their lives for the sake of their children’s future. Women Moving Forward is designed to give young families the foundation they need to successfully move from social assistance and low wages to financial security and independence.

“Each phase and specialized component of the program is customized to accommodate the various needs and interests of young mothers. It has been designed in consultation with single mothers, service providers, and research by some of Canada’s foremost thinkers, including Dr. Gina Browne (McMaster University). Through our grassroots approach to change with systemic implementation, each phase gives a young mother the means to follow her professional dreams.”

You may remember that it was the Women Moving Forward Program that recently gave the good people at Literature for Life their glowing endorsement. Coming from a program as substantial and empowering as this one, an endorsement like that surely means a lot.
