Walk a Mile in Her Shoes for the White Ribbon Campaign

On Thursday, 27 September 2012, the White Ribbon Campaign wants you to put on a pair of high heels and Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. This innovative annual event is a wonderful and powerful way to generate awareness and support in the campaign to end men’s violence against women, and this year the WRC plans to host its biggest walk yet.

“Walk a Mile in Her Shoes,” the website explains, “isn’t simply a stunt – it’s a statement about men’s role in ending violence against women; an issue that is connected to strict gender roles and expectations of men. By wearing heels and acting in solidarity with women, we want to show that we’ll do whatever it takes to make this a safer world for everyone.”

Last year’s participants raised a total of $145,000 to help end violence against women and girls. This year, they’ve set a target of $250,000, and they need your help to meet it. Please take a moment to register, or visit the website to learn more about sponsoring a walker or supporting the White Ribbon Campaign.
