Link of the Day: How’d They Vote?

Brilliant! I’d forgotten that this site existed; I wish I’d thought to check it yesterday, when I was looking for the names of the twelve NDP MPs who voted to scrap the gun registry during the bill’s second reading in November.

I mean, look at their report on that particular vote. Look at how much detail they’ve provided. Check out the totals per party, the individual votes by name, and the fact that they’ve highlighted the votes from MPs who have broken the party line.

While you’re at it, take note of the fact that not a single MP from the Bloc Québécois voted to scrap the registry – which is good, because not a single Conservative voted to preserve it. Never let it be said that Stephen Harper doesn’t know how to keep his party in lockstep. He also doesn’t know how to smile, but that’s another story.

Big thanks to Cowboys for Social Responsibility for reminding me that this site exists. I’ll tell you more about them later.
