In which I accidentally got Fresh Talks some coverage on a noted national music website

Here’s what happened. Last week, Chart editor Aaron Brophy put the call out to his staff for blurbs about novelty rappers. They were working on a feature, and they wanted some examples. I tossed out a couple of ideas – including Bangs, who ultimately made their list. But other than that I wasn’t all that helpful, and we pretty much left it at that.

A few days later, during an especially dull afternoon at work, I sent Aaron a “Speaking of novelty rappers…” email, featuring links to the first and second Fresh Talks videos that Crimes Gang Records has posted on YouTube so far. I figured he’d get a kick out of them, and that would be the end of it; I certainly didn’t expect that they’d find their way into the final piece.

But yesterday, sure enough, Chart published its list of ten great novelty rappers – and the tenth is Fresh Talks.

So… I mean, there you go. That happened.

Also, wow! Chuggo made the list! I haven’t seen that guy in years, but it’s always nice to hear his video come up in conversation. You’ve got to see it at least once, so if you’ve never checked it out, then do take a moment.
