The day leading up to Everyone’s a DJ is always a hectic one
I’ve had a number of people sign on for tonight’s edition of Everyone’s a DJ within the past twenty-four hours or so. Unfortunately, I’ve also had a couple of cancellations, mainly due to the weather and various unforeseen circumstances.
That’s the way it goes, I’m afraid. When you’ve got sixteen people on a bill, there’s a fairly good chance that somebody’s going to have to cancel at the last minute. And when you’re hosting a free night with twenty-minute sets, with no event contracts or payment involved, there’s not much you can do but accept it.
We do tend to run a waiting list for each show, but we haven’t promoted that fact fairly heavily, so these days it’s rare that we’ve actually got anyone on it. In fact, on busy winter nights in particular, we’ve frequently found ourselves with spots to try and fill at the last minute.
Tonight is no exception, and if you’d like to spin, then of course I invite you to sign up. As I mentioned yesterday, I’ll be live tweeting tonight’s party, and I’ll be sure to post schedule updates as they happen. Frankly, if you want to show up with some music later in the evening, there’s a good chance we’ll be able to fit you in.
In the meantime, we do look forward to seeing a lot of you again tonight! We’re also making some decent progress on a lot of the updates and new features we’ve talked about, including a simple but effective thing I look forward to telling you about on Monday. Stay tuned for more.
