Two friends of mine have great new blogs, and I’d like you to check them out
If you’re like me, you can’t say no to an interesting new blog, no matter how bloated and clogged your Google Reader account has gotten. Why, just this afternoon, I subscribed to a couple of new ones, and I think you’ll want to do the same.
The first is a brand new blog by my friend Stephanie Guthrie, who you may remember from the time I interviewed her for Dork Shelf. After a turbulent but triumphant 2012, Steph has chosen to commit herself in a much bigger way to local and global feminist issues. She launched her new blog on Tuesday, and if history and her lively presence on Twitter are any indication, it’ll be bold, inquisitive, a bit too contentious at times, and ultimately progressive and informative. Subscribe today and get in on the ground floor.
The second, International Object, isn’t technically a new blog. My friend K Sawyer Paul has been posting in this space since 2007, but it was only in December of 2012 that he announced an unexpected shift in focus from wresting to politics. The shift hasn’t been as dramatic as you might expect; K’s a compelling and succinct writer, and his voice has remained a constant during the blog’s transition period. He’s doing some great work these days, and I hope you’ll join me in staying tuned for more (along with some occasional posts about wrestling, because there’s no reason to throw the baby out with the bathwater).
Have you got a blog or a website you’d like me to check out? Have you got any other recommendations you think I’d enjoy? Let me know below, would you?
