Payday and other upcoming events

The DJ roster for Payday has been confirmed! I’ll be joining Splattermonkey, Vijay and Dynamite Chris Wright at Augusta House on Friday, 23 October 2009, and it’s sure to be an awesome party. Stay tuned to this space and the link above for more information in the very near future, including the flyer and maybe even some music.

I’m hoping this will be the first of many great nights, and I hope to see as many of you there as possible. Not only will it be free before 11:00 PM, but we’ll have a pretty extensive guest list too. If you’d like to get on it, send me an email. Beyond that, please feel free to spread the word and get your people out.

If you can’t make it down to Payday, of course, I’ve got a bunch of other options for you. There’s the fifty-fourth edition of Strong Words, for example, which we’re hosting at the Gladstone Art Bar on Tuesday, 3 November 2009. Electric Jon, Barry Dempster and Gyspy Eyes are scheduled to read, so it ought to be a great night out. It’ll also be our second-last reading at the Art Bar, because we’re moving to a new venue in January. Make sure you don’t miss it.

If you’d rather check out a club night, you can join us at the next edition of Everyone’s a DJ on Saturday, 14 November 2009 at Disgraceland. A limited number of spaces are still available for those who would like to spin, so feel free to sign up. This time around, I can virtually guarantee that nobody will shatter the front door of the venue at the end of the night and you won’t have to leave through the kitchen because there’s broken glass everywhere. I defy any club in Toronto to give you a better deal.

Still not enough? Then you might want to stay tuned for more information on this thing. Not only is it going to be a great night, but it may very well be your last chance to catch a Yo! Jam for a while.

I think that’s pretty much everything I’ve got going on as far as events are concerned. And frankly, I think that’ll do.
