Davey D: “Now that everyone is getting searched, have things suddenly changed?”

Journalist and activist Davey D, whose site I’ve previously mentioned in this space, has posted some compelling thoughts on the outraged, and arguably hypocritical, reaction to the TSA grope-a-thon south of the border.

“I find it funny,” Davey says, “that all these people are upset about full body searches and pat downs at the airport when just two months ago many of these same folks didn’t seem to mind when Muslim-Americans were complaining about being profiled and singled out for searches… Certainly I’m not the only one who recalls pompous sounding pundits on TV saying such things like; ‘Well if they have nothing to hide, they won’t mind being searched,’ ‘We now live in extraordinary times which requires extraordinary measures to keep America safe’ or ‘I think most people would rather be searched and profiled than be blown up.’”
