Splattermonkey says support community radio (and get your hands on some great music in the process)

Local DJ, Bruckbeat Radio co-host and good fellow Splattermonkey sent a message out to his community yesterday about the current CKLN 88.1 FM fundraising drive. Check it out, because there’s something in it for you.

“If you support independent driven media and music in Toronto,” Splattermonkey said, “we hope you will pledge a few dollars to help keep CKLN alive and kicking for another year. Any amount is welcome; there are pledge incentives for amounts $25 and over.”

Splattermonkey shares the Bruckbeat Radio helm with fellow DJs Dialect and Vision. All three of them have produced their own individual mix CDs to benefit the occasion. A $25.00 pledge gets you the CD of your choice, and a $45.00 pledge gets you all three.

“If you enjoy the future soul and eclectic funk on the show,” Splattermonkey says, “these will be up your alley.”

CKLN relies on listener support; roughly a third of its operation budget is dependent on donations. This support is vital to keeping the station and its equipment up to standard. The overall goal for the current fundraising campaign is $88,100.
