Currently enjoying “Amy” by Beatface

The dedicated and talented DJ Kid Tronic recently brought my attention to Beatface, a local production duo, through a post on Twitter. He’d heard their new EP at a listening party back in September, and he like it so much that he decided to share a downloadable version of it through his page on Facebook. Thanks, Kid!

There’s a lot going on the space of the six tracks on Amy, and it’s definitely a worthwhile listen. The duo blends diverse beats and musical elements rather effortlessly, and punches it up with the sort of fine lyrical touches that are all too rare in club music these days. It’s always nice to hear a local act make good, and Beatface are certainly no exception.
