Today I launched a new blog at media101.ca

In light of all the hotly debated media issues that have risen to the top of the news in Canada lately – and in light of how bummed out I was to discover recently that an old media reform website of mine is now a shadow of its former self – I decided it was time to launch a brand new blog dealing with media issues and social change in Canada.

Why another blog? Let me quote from the first post:

“What we hope to do with this small and simple blog is provide an introduction to many of the media issues and headlines that affect Canadians – in a clear, straightforward fashion that we hope will encourage us all to learn more and take action… There’s a lot going on, and there are a lot of people out there doing great work – but because of that, it’s often tough to know where to begin.

“Hopefully, this blog will become a helpful ‘jumping off’ point for plenty of these issues and campaigns. We’ll tell you what’s happening, who the players are, and what you can do to help make a difference.”

This doesn’t mean I’ll be doing more blogging; I think you’ll agree I do more than enough as it is. Instead, I’ll be doing more focused blogging across at least a couple of sites.

Wish me luck – and if you want to contribute, please feel free to drop a line. If this thing takes off, I’ll need all the help I can get. There’s also an account you can follow on Twitter.
