Yesterday’s News: Monday, 18 April 2011
In the interest of sharing some news and ideas – not to mention staying on top of my feed subscriptions – I’ve decided to try and post a daily collection of links from this point forward. Let’s start off light with the following links and see if I can keep it up.
- The election campaigning continued in the official party news feeds as the Liberals took a look at one opponent’s history of courting the gun lobby, and celebrated the anniversary of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms with a knock at Stephen Harper
- The Conservatives, meanwhile, renewed their vow to crack down on human smuggling
- The NDP issued a pledge to fight elder abuse, took Ignatieff to task on his record on abortion rights, and turned up the heat on Liberal backing of the HST in British Columbia
- Lastly, the Greens posted “the real Bruce Carson story,” examining “the bizarre criminal, financial and sexual past of this former aide to Stephen Harper”
- Rabble published a piece by blogger Lewis Rifkind about the future of resources and economics in Canada’s north
- blogTO published the latest edition in its Neighbourhood Mixtape series, intended to “celebrate Toronto’s music culture and provide a forum to listen to and discover new local music”
- Finally, Lifehacker posted a list of the five best job sites, along with a look at a number of ways to keep your task list healthy and focused
