“I especially liked how he chose to be the Shirley Temple drink, and not… not the human”
Despite the fact that my brother Jon is widely known as a terrific ensemble player, due to his acclaimed work as a head writer and actor for the Sketchersons, he’s been making some great inroads as a solo performer. The latest example of his efforts is a clip he posted earlier today called “Owen Wilson Does Impressions,” which was shot this past Wednesday at Chuckle Co.
Jon’s had a pretty decent Owen Wilson impression in his back pocket for years. For a few months after Behind Enemy Lines hit theatres, it was all you could do not to hear him passionately mumble “You guys, I’m behind enemy lines!” across the family dinner table. But I’ll be the first, and most certainly not the last, to admit that he really found a way to take the bit to the next level.
As for Chuckle Co., it’s hosted every Wednesday at Comedy Bar by a rotating team of comedians. The first Wednesday of the month, for example, is hosted by fellow Sketcherson Joel Buxton, who’s the very funny and genuinely decent guy appearing at the beginning and end of this clip. Do check it out, won’t you?
