My daughter and I are both in the new issue of Shameless

A few months ago, I wrote an article for Shameless about some of the challenges a man has to face in the course of trying to raise a daughter these days. That article is in the current issue, which you can now find wherever quality independent magazines for fierce young women are sold.

Many thanks to Sheila Sampath and Allison Martell for giving me the opportunity to share these rambling, neurotic worries of mine, and for working with me to ensure that the final draft would offer their readership something of value. Not a lot of people who aren’t courageous young women get to write for this terrific magazine, and that’s the way it should be, so I appreciate them making an exception for me.

By the way, the article’s flanked by an utterly adorable picture of my daughter and I, which was taken by (and credited to) my wife. So if you’re one of those people who’s all “I’m not going to bother paying good money for one of Matt’s self-deprecating rants about politics and culture when I can just visit his blog for free,” then there, that’s a little something extra for you. Unless I’m already in your Facebook feed, in which case, yeah, fair enough.
