I knew they were going to do that
According to Maclean’s, The Romanian government has just announced that it’s “considering fining and even imprisoning clairvoyants if their predictions don’t come true.”
It’s a tax measure, apparently, and it’s new ground for Romania in general; despite being a vital part of the culture for centuries, witchcraft was only officially acknowledged as a taxable profession in January of this year.
Certain critics argue that the only reason why the Romanian government introduced these measures was to distract the public from more serious issues – which, if true, would make them the first government ever to do such a thing.
