Setting sail for the most important meal of the day

I don’t eat breakfast as often as I should, and I’m trying to correct that. I work long days, and I spent a lot of energy, so you’d think I wouldn’t want to skimp on fueling up. But I also like to sleep late, and to be honest, I’ve never really taken enough joy in the whole “breakfast” part of the day.

Now, the best way to drop a bad routine in your life is to adopt a better one. So tonight, at the grocery store, I bought a box of children’s cereal.

That’s right, guys. Me and the Cap’n are charting a course for healthy living. And if it sticks, then maybe I can keep up the habit with genuine grown-up cereals.

Great idea, right? Or maybe I’m dealing with a subconscious resistance to embracing a new level of adulthood by subtly reverting back to an embarrassingly childish mode of behaviour. Either way, essential vitamins and minerals!

I’ve always had this feeling that the Cap’n‘s military credentials may be, shall we say, a bit fraudulent.

(On the other hand, I’ve read Dr Pepper’s PhD thesis, and he makes some interesting remarks about the true causes of the South American hyperinflation crisis of the early ’90s. That guy’s totally legit.)
