Link of the Day: Power Smart Month

Like Together is Amazing, which I mentioned on Monday, Power Smart Month is a rather innovative campaign happening out on the west coast.

“October is Power Smart month,” according to the good people at BC Hydro, and that means it’s “time for discounts on energy-efficient products – and time for some great contests and events.”

The campaign’s promotional video is rather well done, and it’s just one example of the campaign’s clever messaging. At the moment, for example, Vancouver is covered in posters featuring glaring forms of waste – a bathroom floor covered in paper towels, a woman taking one bite out of an apple and throwing it over her shoulder before moving on to another – which beg the question of why we don’t think of wasting power as equally ridiculous.
