A magical journey back in time
“How’s it going, fellow Mayan?”
“Pretty good. Just working on the calendar.”
“Still? It’s five o’clock, dude. Let’s get the hell out of here and get a round in.”
“I don’t know, man. I’m on a roll. I’m up to 2012.”
“See? You’re doing great. Let’s call it a day.”
“All right, sure. But you’d better remind me to finish this thing, okay?”
“Dude, what’s the worst, most ridiculous thing that could happen if you don’t?”

The mayan calender actually has several dates that are millennia ahead of 2012 (accurately calculated as well). It’s only one thing that says 2012 is the end, and the calender itself goes far beyond 2012. sorry, i’m a giant nerd
Don’t be sorry. Dig through the archives, and I think you’ll find that this blog is a safe place for nerds. Besides, your point makes the case against 2012 all the stronger, and I think we can all enjoy that.
