It’s Good Friday, so here’s the video for “My Name is Mud” by Primus
Happy Good Friday, everyone! The video I’m posting today doesn’t have much of a religious or cultural significance, I’ll grant you that. I’m choosing it because today’s a lazy day, and I figure that in that sense at least, it’s appropriate.
Which isn’t to say that Primus are by any means a lazy band. They may be well past their commercial prime, but damned if they aren’t a trio of skilled musicians who made some excellently inventive music at the height of their game.
This is the track that they were perhaps best known for, in the days before the theme from South Park became the song that they’re forever doomed to call their most popular. It’s not a very challenging video; if you already love it, then I hope you’ll love seeing it again, and if you never really liked it, then I’ll bet this post isn’t going to change your mind. But if it does, then so much the better.

I saw Primus at the Ottawa Blues festival a couple of years ago and even though they were missing buckethead they still sound great!
