The Sketchersons have a new head writer, and his name is my brother
On Thursday, I told the folks on Twitter and Facebook that it had been a “big day for people in my life achieving milestones.” I was frustratingly vague, and it was only because the two people I was talking about weren’t yet in a position to share their good news. But today, I’m officially allowed to do half the job.
I’m proud to tell you that my brother Jon, who joined the Sketchersons in November of 2008, has officially become their new head writer, which was a job held up until now by the rather terrific Brendan Halloran. Congratulations, Jon! Do be sure to head to Comedy Bar on a Sunday night in the very near future to check out Jon and the rest of the troupe’s exceptional cast at work. Just don’t make it this Sunday, because they’re taking it off for the Super Bowl.
The second bit of news involves Kate, and I’ll share it with you as soon as I can. I hate to be a tease about it, but if I didn’t come right out and say that it’s about her, and it’s definitely not that she’s pregnant, then I know for a fact that a lot of you would just assume that’s what it was.

My news is not as big a deal as Jon’s. I should make that clear.
Excited to see Jon’s next show as head writer!
Oh, go on, hon. Your news is pretty big too!
Matt, is Kate’s news that she got YOU pregnant?
Let me check…
…Nope.
As if you know how to check if you’re man-pregnant.
Dude, I will check the hell out of if I’m man-pregnant. Don’t tell me I won’t!
